A great tour for beginners!
After a short introduction to safety and
paddling techniques we take off at a leisurely pace from Dutchman's
Cove in the sleepy little village of East Dover. We paddle between a
string of uninhabited islands of stunning beauty that protect us
from the open ocean while allowing the full view of the Atlantic. As
you glide over clear waters take a deep breath of the clean North
Atlantic air while sea birds or ospreys circle overhead. Fishermen
have eked a living from this area for centuries and their colorful
Cape Islanders often pass us on their way to tend Lobster traps or
mackerel weirs. The kayak gives you a first class view to a
fascinating aquatic world that's unknown to most people. We go for a
hike on Dover Island with its stunning geological formations and
beautiful wildflower "rock garden". Enjoy excellent views of the
area while we treat you to delicious healthy snacks, including home
baked desserts, fresh fruit and hot drinks to warm your belly.
* All prices are per person/Canadian Dollars before tax. You can pay either by VISA, MasterCard or cash. We honor the Fair & Friendly Exchange Program

Pamper
yourself with this invigorating kayak treat.
Suitable for beginners and
experienced paddlers.
After a short introduction to safety and efficient paddling techniques we take off from East Dover. Soon we paddle amidst an archipelago of uninhabited islands. We will go for a hike at Polly's Cove, part of the unique preservation area between West Dover and Peggy's Cove. On the barrens you might discover a rare orchid and be sure to see the exotic insect eating Pitcher Plants. The glacial erratic's are a dominant feature of this area. They
have become known by local climbers for their "bouldering" opportunities and contribute to the mystique of this unusual landscape. We treat you with a hearty home cooked lunch, then its back in the kayaks towards new adventures: High Island and the inviting coves of East Dover or Dover Island with its incredible rock formations and a coastline carved as natures own amphitheater. Hot drinks and delicious healthy snacks will keep your fuel up for the home trip past islands, which long ago were favored by rumrunner's and privateers for anchorage. Kayaking in Nova Scotia doesn't get much better!

A treat for adventurous beginners and experienced paddlers
After a short introduction to the safety equipment and efficient paddling techniques we take off past West Dover, the unspoiled harbor of an active fishing fleet. Soon we paddle in the Peggy’s Cove Preservation area dramatically shaped by the latest ice age twenty thousand years ago. We stop for a hearty lunch and hot drinks in Polly’s Cove with its inviting sand bottom and incredibly clear waters. Then we head for Peggy’s Cove, where you’ll enjoy the sight of the Lighthouse from below the impressive rocks – a perspective most tourists never see. We stay in the picturesque and still active fishing community of Peggy’s Cove for about an hour where you can visit the lighthouse, the old wooden church or the interesting shops or the deGarthe Gallery (marine paintings and sculptor). Then it’s back in the kayaks towards Dover Island, an invigorating paddle that allows you to get the feeling of the ocean. Before heading back to East Dover we build up new energy from fresh fruit, home baked cookies and hot drinks. This tour is very weather dependent and is converted to the Oceanview Island Exploring tour if the weather dictates.
* All prices are per person/Canadian Dollars before tax. You can pay either by VISA, MasterCard or cash. We honor the Fair & Friendly Exchange Program.
